A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

Down in the core of the engine room of the nuclear submarine Thresher, a leak developed in corroded pipes. The deadly dribble, it’s thought, became a spew, fouling the electrical system, and sending the sub down in 8,400 feet of water with all hands. What happens in your core--your heart--is vital for your whole being. You sink or swim based on your heart-condition. Joy is the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). When that joy spreads, it even heals your “corroded pipes.”
